I’m Anya Reddy, a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist based in Bengaluru, India. Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the power of play in helping children express themselves. In 2017, I began my journey in Play Therapy, a field that blends creativity, compassion, and science to support children and families. In 2024, I expanded my practice to become a certified Parent Coach after several parents I worked with expressed the need for culturally-sensitive, research-backed guidance to empower themselves in supporting their children for the long term.
Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. It taps into play—the most natural form of expression for children—allowing children to convey their feelings in a safe, supportive space. Here, toys become their words, making it easier for children to explore their emotions and process their experiences.
I am trained in several therapeutic approaches, including:
Therapeutic Play Skills
Synergetic Play Therapy
Nature-Based Play Therapy
Child-Centered Play Therapy
Video Game-Based Play Therapy
Art-Based Therapy
Personal Counseling
These diverse modalities allow me to connect with each child uniquely, fostering a therapeutic relationship that aligns with their personal interests and needs. I approach every session with a trauma-informed lens, ensuring sensitivity, support, and empowerment for children who may have experienced difficult or overwhelming life events.
As a play therapist, I believe in working closely with parents to ensure a child’s progress extends beyond therapy sessions. I support parents with insight, feedback, and resources to foster emotional growth and create a nurturing environment. Together, we’ll build a strong foundation for your child’s success.
Parent coaching is a strengths-based, collaborative process that helps parents overcome challenges and create thriving family environments.
As a PCI Certified Parent Coach, I use an evidence-based model that includes:
Family Systems Theory: Exploring family dynamics and relationships.
Brain-Based Parenting: Applying neuroscience to align with your child’s development.
Environmental Factors: Addressing influences like culture, community, and technology.
Through coaching, we’ll:
Identify your strengths and values.
Develop practical solutions tailored to your family.
Cultivate growth and adaptability in your parenting approach.
The ultimate goal is to create nurturing, resilient family systems that support your child’s well-being.
My practice is a safe, welcoming space for all families, embracing diversity in gender identity, sexual orientation, and culture.
I offer in-person sessions in Bengaluru and online sessions to support families anywhere in the world.
To provide the best care, I participate in ongoing training and regular supervision with a Certified Synergetic Play Therapy Supervisor. I also prioritize personal therapy, recognizing that nurturing my well-being is vital to effectively supporting others.
Growing up, I saw that children’s environments weren’t always child-friendly; too often, they lacked the understanding, kindness, and support essential to a child’s healthy development. Very early on, I felt a calling to create a space where children could be truly heard—a place where they could freely and creatively express themselves, unleash their inner spirit, and experience deep healing. Today, it is my honor to fulfill that mission by walking alongside children and families, empowering each child and supporting parents in nurturing their child’s growth.
